Bentley Rhythm Ace (live)
Bentley Rhythm Ace return to the live circuit for their 2010 reunion tour, their first shows in 12 years! For those that don't know, BRA are Mike Stokes and ex-Pop Will Eat Itself bassist Richard March who formed in 1995 after they met at the house party where Stokes was DJing. Discovering a shared love for screwball novelty records and offbeat groove tunes, the pair met up afterwards to see if they couldn't make a go of a studio collaboration. They since released two EPs and a long-player for Brighton's Skint records, attracting wide acclaim for their energetic, irreverent blend of hip-hop, funk, and the bizarre lounge, jazz, and exotica records that initially brought them together. Their self-titled debut LP was released by in 1997, and featured the hits 'Bentleys Gonna Sort You Out' and 'Theme From Gutbuster'. The pair have also cultivated something of a devoted fan base following through their live performances, which often involve strange and unusual costumes and props. Bentleys Gonna Sort You Out? You betcha!
Krafty Kuts
Martin Reeves, AKA Krafty Kuts, is without doubt one of the world? greatest DJs. Lauded in the UK, worshipped in Australia, acclaimed in America, wherever he plays he is guaranteed to cause a commotion with his riotous skills that combines tight beat matching with cutting and scratching. So far in a glittering career he has gained some of dance music? top accolades and released an awesome collection of albums, mixes, singles, remixes and re-edits for labels such as Finger Lickin', Against The Grain and Southern Fried. Inspired by hip-hop and electro he has gone on to become one of Breakbeats biggest DJs and producers who isn't afraid to skip genres while staying true to his roots, and always brings the ill type sound!
Cut La Roc
Lee Potter, aka Cut La Roc, made his name in the hurly-burly Big Beat days of the late 90s. Signed to Skint Records, he was responsible for pioneering the sound worldwide alongside Fatboy Slim, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Midfield General. A former resident of the Big Beat Boutique, Le Roc has DJ'd all around the world, appeared on Top Of The Pops, set a new Guinness world record for DJing with the most decks at once (nine!), and has recorded with vocalists such as Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. Now he's about to release his third artist album 'Larger Than Life'. Bookending another chapter in the La Roc story, it's a magical blend of Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Deep House, Electronica and Breakbeat. 2010 also see him take to the road on a DJ tour in support of the album that is sure to be his most electrifying yet. La Roc roc's? Hell yeh!
