Why do you want to represent your community?

I want to represent East 15 as this place has become, extremely quickly, a place which I am passionate about. The people, freedom of creativity and the opportunities presented here are what make East 15 a special place to train. I really see this as an opportunity to step up and create an even more positive experience for those following in the coming years. However, even in my short amount of time here, I have still noticed that some opportunities and facilities are being extremely underestimated and I'm given a feeling of personal responsibility that I should be the one to create these changes and further improve student life here. It’s easy to stand back and notice where change could happen, but much harder to step forward and make it happen. Places like East 15 are rare, so why not step up and represent?

What skills would you bring to the role?

I would endeavour to bring strong leadership, communication and people skills into this role. As a performer, I've worked professionally as a Magician at weddings and corporate events, where I have to be comfortable engaging and interacting with a wide range of audiences and demographics. At the Coronation Street Experience where I work as a tour guide (when back in Manchester), I regularly engage with groups of up to 60 people keeping them informed and entertained. My experience as Head of Marketing and Fundraising with The Cherry Tree Project, has developed my ability to organise campaigns, collaborate with teams, such as Stockport and Manchester Council, and create a meaningful impact in the community. I hope to create a trusting environment where myself in Loughton can liaison successfully with Colchester to create that ideal student experience. Overall, I bring energy, confidence, creativity alongside a genuine passion for improving student life.

The SU Leadership Election is broken down into these stages...

This is the phase where you can apply (put yourself forward) for a role.

All candidates will be announced by Essex SU as an official candidate in the SU Leadership Election 2026/27.

You can start promoting that you are running for a position in the SU Leadership Election!

It is your chance to do everything that you can to get the most votes in your category.

Use this period to convince the student body that you are the best person for the role and that they should vote for you.

Use posters, social media posts, leafleting and campaigning on campus.

And voting is open! Now’s the time to make sure your audience are voting!!!

All eligible students can vote for who they want to lead Essex SU. Voting is available online. This is when campaigning gets to its most intense and you’re pushing to get as many people to vote for you as possible.

Students vote in order of preference.

The results of the SU Leadership Election 2026/27 are announced. If you’re a candidate, you cross your fingers that it’s you. Good luck!
