What we do:

We're here to give you free and confidential advice on pretty much any issue that might be affecting you. Our trained staff will give you useful, practical advice, letting you get back on with enjoying student life.

SU Advice is based above the SU Lounge and can be accessed through there. We are currently open on Thursday's 10am - 4pm. You can drop-in and chat with us in person during our opening hours, or you can pre-book your appointment with us online. Education Issues – Academic Appeals, Extenuating Circumstances, Progress Committees, Advice on Withdrawing and Intermitting from your Studies, Changing Courses, Complaints
Housing – Where and When to look, reading contracts before they are signed, advising on what to do/who to contact if things go wrong, issues/complaints within University Accommodation
Health – Free condoms, Pregnancy Tests £2, HC1 – Help with Health Costs info
Immigration – Renewing your Tier 4 visa inside the UK, Applying for Tier 1 - Post Study Work inside the UK, general information on Schengen Visas (we cannot assist with Schengen applications)
Money – Hardship Loans, Information regarding other sources of funding available within the University, Help with Health Costs info, Consumer rights advice and information
Academic Offences – What the process is, what to expect, how to prepare, what happens after an academic offence, where possible we can arrange for someone to attend the meeting with you
Harassment - how to report harassment issues, where to get support and further information
Disciplinary – what the disciplinary process is, what to expect, how to prepare, what happens after a disciplinary meeting, where possible we can arrange for someone to attend the meeting with you
