One World Essex is a vibrant cultural celebration hosted by the Students’ Union — and this year’s event is proudly being hosted by VP Southend Rebecca and SU President Alex — bringing our amazing international community together through food, music, fashion and shared traditions from across the globe.
This event is all about celebrating diversity, embracing different cultures, and creating a welcoming space where everyone can connect, learn something new, and have fun.

📍 Location: SU Lounge
⏰ Time: The event starts prompty at 6:30 sharp!!
🎟 Cost: This is a ticketed event! Tickets are just £1, which will include an international meal and drinks for everyone to enjoy. No ticket No Entry!
👗 Dress Code: Wear traditional clothing or bring a cultural item to showcase and celebrate your heritage

When you arrive, you’ll receive your very own paper “passport.”
As you explore different activity stations (food, photo backdrop, cultural displays), you’ll collect stamps or stickers along the way. Complete your passport to enter a small prize draw to receive an extra international snack package 👀🍬

Punjabi Samosa
Ingredients: Potato, green peas, ginger, green chilli, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garam masala, turmeric, red chilli powder, dry mango powder, fresh coriander, plain flour (GLUTEN), carom seeds, vegetable oil, salt.

Ingredients: Basmati rice, water, salt
Chicken Butter Masala
Ingredients:
Plant-based chicken (SOYA, GLUTEN), onion, tomato purée, cashew paste (NUTS), ginger-garlic, vegan butter, vegetable oil, coconut or plant-based cream, garam masala, Kashmiri red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, dried fenugreek (kasuri methi), sugar, salt, fresh coriander.
Chole / Chana Masala
Ingredients:

Ingredients: Chicken (thighs), spring onion, thyme, scotch bonnet, allspice, brown sugar, lime juice, salt, black pepper, ginger, garlic powder, jerk bbq sauce, paprika.

Q: Do I need to arrive at the beginning?
A: In order to participate please make sure you arrive at the start as the event will begin promplty
Q: Do I have to stay until the end?
A: It would be best to stay the whole time to get to take part in the full activity
Q: Do I need to bring money?
A: Nope! Once you've bought a ticket, everything will be included
Q: Will there be alcohol?
A: No, there will be refreshments at the event but no alcohol is permitted
Q: Can I come by myself?
A: Absolutely! Events are a great place to meet new people, lots of students come alone and meet people
Q: When is the last entry?
A: 6:30PM, the event will start with or without you!
