How do I become a student rep?
Student Reps play a vital role in making sure your voice and the voices of your classmates are heard where it matters. As a Rep, you’ll gather feedback from students on your course, highlight what’s working well, and raise any issues or ideas for improvement. You’ll work closely with university staff, attend Student Voice meetings, and help shape decisions that directly affect teaching, learning, and the overall student experience.
You don’t need any prior experience, just a passion for helping others and making positive change.
Whether it’s pushing for better assessment feedback, more inclusive teaching, or better communication from your department, you’ll be supported every step of the way by the SU’s Education Team.

THE STUDENT REP RECOGNITION SCHEME
Introducing the Student Rep Recognition Scheme 🎉
Being a Student Rep isn’t just about speaking up.
It’s about getting involved and making real change.
To celebrate your efforts, we’ve created the Student Rep Recognition Scheme; a points-based rewards system designed to thank you for everything you do.
From attending meetings to running your own feedback surveys, you’ll earn points for every activity you complete as a Rep. And yep, points mean prizes – including exclusive merch, free pizza, event tickets, and even LinkedIn endorsements to help boost your future career.
Psst... want to get a head start? Join the Student Reps WhatsApp Channel to stay in the loop and start earning points straight away.
