Getting together by the lakes to celebrate the Summer Solstice and Midsummer has become one of our favourite SU annual traditions 🌻✌️🌺💕
🌼✌️🌼Join us for our 4th year of celebrating the season - this time on Midsummer - to make your very own flower crown, get festival-ready, and come together under the trees to relax with friends🌼✌️🌼
The summer solstice (falling on Saturday 21st June this year) is a special time which marks the turn of the wheel of the year on the longest day (and the shortest night). The solstice has been celebrated since ancient times all over the world. Famous celebrations include at Stonehenge and festivities usually include music, dancing and feasts – and flower crowns is how we celebrate here at Essex <3
No materials, tools, or experience necessary – come along and make something meaningful, make friends, make a mess, and maybe even learn a new skill!
Drop in whenever you’re ready – we’re looking forward to seeing you <3
