Volunteer to support us with SU Foodbank Week on campus!
The Foodbank Week is a week-long drive to collect as many donations for the Colchester Foodbank as possible. All members of our University - students and staff - will have the opportunity to drop off items at a collection point in front of the SU Store on Square 4. It is a great way to spread some joy to people who need it most around the holidays!
How to get involved!
Calling all students!
On Friday 5th December, students are invited to volunteer to run the donation stall. You will be on hand to oversee the collection point, accept donations, thank people for donating, and tell people about the initiative. There are x3 slots you can choose from:
- 10am - 12pm
- 12pm 2pm
- 2pm 4pm
Find out more and register here.
Calling all Sports Clubs and Societies!
On Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd, and Thursday 4th December, we are inviting Societies and Sports Clubs to help us run our collection point. You will be on hand to oversee the collection point, accept donations, thank people for donating, and tell people about the initiative.
- On the signup sheet, you can book a shift by entering the name of your Society or Club into any of the empty slots. You can book onto multiple shifts.
- Make sure your Society or Club can cover the full 2-hour slot before committing.
- You cannot have more than 6 members of your Club or Society on the stall at any time.
- It is the responsibility of you and your exec members to organise amongst yourselves which members will be covering any shifts you have booked onto.
- You must have at least 2 people from your Club or Society throughout the duration of your shift, but you can share this between different members.
E.g. someone can leave halfway through, as long as someone else is coming to cover them.
