This week's SU Makes focuses on making your own runes 🔮✨

We’ll be using air-dry clay to create our own set of runes for divination – we’ll give you templates, instructions and everything you need to create something special.

What are runes?

In some modern Pagan traditions, divination is done by casting runes. Much like reading Tarot cards, rune casting isn't fortune-telling or predicting the future. Instead, it's a guidance tool that works with your subconscious to help solve problems by looking at potential outcomes.

We’ll keep your runes safe for you while they dry and you can come and paint them, learn to read them, and take them away them at SU Makes… Journals on Monday 1^st June 12-5 in the Atrium.

No materials, tools, or experience necessary – come along and make something meaningful, make friends, make a mess, and maybe even learn a new skill!

Photography and/or filming is taking place at this event/location for promotional purposes. The images/videos might be used by Essex Students’ Union or University of Essex for promotional purposes, for example on @essexsu Instagram page, essexstudent.com, on printed materials such as flyers and posters and on Essex SU emails. If you’d prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please speak to our photographer or videographer or the SU event organiser. Don’t be shy - you’re welcome to ask our photographers to take photos of you and your friends! The photos will be available on the Essex SU Flickr to view and download shortly.
