As my time as VP Student Experience comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what an incredible and rewarding year it’s been. From cheering on our athletes to celebrating our vibrant societies, it's been an honour to support the student experience in every way I could. Over the next few weeks i will be working on my handover to our next VP Activities, Ata. 

Blades
Although we didn’t take home the Derby Day trophy this year, the spirit, dedication, and energy from our athletes was unmatched. It was a brilliant opportunity for students to travel, compete, and represent Essex with pride.
This year’s BUCS season also marks a historic achievement—our highest ever BUCS score, a testament to the hard work of all our athletes and coaches.
We also celebrated the outstanding contributions of our sports community at the University of Essex Sports Awards, a night filled with well-deserved recognition and pride.

Societies
It’s been a record-breaking year for societies—we saw the highest number of societies ever at Essex!
Our Societies Awards Night was another standout event, with one of the largest turnouts we’ve had. It was amazing to see so many student leaders and members being celebrated for their contributions and passion.

The Big Plan
While some of the events I had originally planned were postponed due to Derby Day and Awards Week, we’re not done yet! I’m currently seeing what budget remains so that we can plan something exciting for students to enjoy this summer.
