Leadership Election wrap up

Hello all,

As you know, last week we closed the voting and campaign periods of the SU Leadership Election were you voted for the next Student Leader Team.

It was a total of 11 days of campaigning, which means 264 hours or 15840 minutes. Voting was open from Tuesday to Thursday for a total of 54 hours or 3240 minutes.

We closed voting with a great number of 2128 individual voters, which means that 23% of the students voted this year. Additionally, we saw a good number of people voting on our voting booths, and 642 people, and we made sure we thanked them with some oats.

The top 5 nationalities with the most cast votes

  • UK: 1058
  • France: 130
  • India: 123
  • Turkey: 70
  • Pakistan: 50

Student Type voters:

  • 2071 undergraduates voted
  • 380 postgraduates voted

Departments that voted more:

  • CSEE: 190
  • Government: 154
  • Life Sciences: 148

Complaints:

We had a total of 30 complaints in the time period between the 1st of March and the 12th of March submitted by 15 people.

Only 20 could be upheld (this means that the complaint could be investigated with the information provided and acted upon). Only 7 complaints resulted in points being awarded to candidates as evidence was provided, and the fault required it.
