We’re in Pride Month, a time that should feel loud, joyful and full of colour. But we also know that for many of our LGBTQ+ students, this month has felt heavier.

A recent Supreme Court ruling has redefined what “woman” means under UK law. It’s a big shift, one that’s left lots of trans, non-binary and gender-diverse students feeling unsure about what it means for them.

If that’s you, please know this:
đź’› You still belong here.
đź’› You are still seen, valued and supported.
đź’› And we are still here for you.

We’re not just sharing rainbows. We’re doing the work:

  • We’re rethinking how we define roles like Women’s Officer

  • We’re creating space for both inclusive and legally-compliant groups, if students want them

  • And most importantly: we’ll continue to stand up for you, uphold and advocate for trans students rights.

If this ruling has left you with questions, frustration or fear, we’re here for you.

We’ve linked support services below.

Pride started as a protest, and it still is. But it’s also about community.
