We are the University of Essex Conservative Society, a society for people who support or are interested in Debating and having a good laugh over a pint.

We are a student-led platform dedicated to the principles of open debate and free speech. Our society provides a space where all students, regardless of their political background; can engage with conservative ideas in an environment that champions intellectual freedom. We believe the best way to understand an idea is to challenge it, and we welcome anyone ready to debate, question, and discuss.

What we do
We host a dynamic calendar of events designed to get you talking. From our renowned parliamentary debates to talks from guest speakers, we tackle the full spectrum of political topics without echo chambers or filters. Looking to unwind?
