The Essex Collection of Art from Latin America (ESCALA) is the museum of the University of Essex, serving as a vital teaching and research resource for staff and students, and a hub for global exchange of art, knowledge, and expertise.
Based at the University's Colchester Campus, ESCALA holds over 800 artworks across a wide variety of media, dating largely from 1960s to today. The Collection is housed in a purpose-built Teaching and Research space in the Constable Building next to Wivenhoe House, the space we'll be exploring together on this guided tour.
Join us to learn more about the study of art from Latin America at Essex and enjoy an up-close look at some of the remarkable works in our Collection.
Please book in advance to secure your place, as capacity in our Teaching and Research space is limited. We'll meet at the Albert Sloman Library's ground-floor entrance from 11.50am to 12.00pm, before walking together to the Constable Building.
