We're doing staggered entry times:
- 18:00 Students with the free ticket
- 18:30 without tickets
- 18:45 Members of the public
You can enter SU Fireworks at the entrance, which is at the top of the Ivor Crewe Hill.
The event is free for SU Members (that’s all Essex students!) and University staff. You will need to bring your ID with you.
For members of the public:
- Adults:£5 ticket on the gate
- Children 5-18: £2.50 ticket on the gate
SU Fireworks is a very popular event, and we expect it to be busy. Getting a free ticket in advance to the event will guarantee you entry, and you can access the event earlier.

Yes, we would love for you to come back to campus. Please note the event is only free for Current University of Essex Students, with proof of a valid student ID. Everyone else will be required to pay the £5 entry fee.
All staff will be able to enter the event for free, please bring your staff ID with you.
You can bring a small bag in with you, no larger than A4 and there will be random bag searches upon entry. If you require a place to store larger bags for the day, then please head to SU Reception to enquire about the use of a locker.
Yes all children are welcome to the event. Children of staff or students will be admitted free of charge. There is a charge for members of the public of £2.50 per child (5-18year old).
Yes you can, but if they are not a current University of Essex student or staff member, they will be required to pay the £5 entry.
There will be a wheelchair accessible/seated viewing area. A sensory/low noise area will also be available on request. Earbuds can be provided upon request. Our aim is to make this a fully inclusive event, if you have any specific requirements or would like to use any of the dedicated viewing areas, please email suengagement@essex.ac.uk in advance of the event.
Yes! There will be variety of food available all day with our SU market on Square 3 available from 11am – 4pm and then we will have a variety of food stalls on the night, located in the car park once you have entered the event. There will be gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Please note, there is a risk of cross contamination.
We will have card readers available at the entry point on the day.
Yes, there will be no charge for parking after 5pm. Please park in Car Park A. Please enter campus via Boundary road and follow the event signage.
Yes, you are an SU member and will have free entry to the event. You will just need to get yourself down to Colchester.
No, we will not be serving alcohol in the event space, no glass will be allowed on site and staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone under the influence of alcohol.
No, these will be confiscated on site.
