weLCOME TO THE UNCONVENTIONAL FAMILY.

Working at Essex Students' Union is different to anything you've ever done before. It's less like a job, more like being part of an amazing, unconventional family.

It’s ambitious, challenging and rewarding work - fancy coming on the adventure with us?

This isn't a NORMAL workplace

At Essex SU we don't stand still. This is the nerve centre of a multi-million pound charity full of people who are really proud of the work we do for our 17,000 student members.

Together we're on a mission to become the World's Most Student-centred Organisation (TM). It's a bold, super ambitious target and we're already well on the way there.

Based over three campuses

Our Colchester campus is set on 200 acres of parkland complete with lakes, restaurants, banks, shops, bars, a gym, a cinema and loads of great places for you to grab coffee. There's even a discounted day nursery for parents.

Work Hard, Play Hard

At Essex we're super-dedicated about our work, but playing hard is just as important to being successful.

So take your pick of nights out, book club, 5aside football, knit and natter club (AKA bitch & stitch), lunchtime gym classes and the legendary Christmas Staff Day, to name a few...

A SENSE OF PURPOSE

So many jobs suffer from a lack of direction - not here though.

At the SU we're all pulling in the same direction with a clear purpose - to do whatever it takes to support Essex students throughout their time at uni, from simply being there to listen through to providing memories that will last a lifetime.

Grow your brain

We're serious about making sure that everyone in our SU staff family can grow and develop.

We work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where your voice will be heard and you'll have a genuine opportunity to shape what goes on around you.  Sounds good right?

BE WHO YOU ARE AND BE PROUD

When we say we want to be the worlds’ most student- centred organisation we mean it.

To succeed we need a workforce that is representative of the students we are so passionate about.

That’s why we’re proud to be building a culture where difference is valued and embraced.

Our commitment to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity and experience drives us forward.
