kickboxing

hello, we are the essex blades kickboxing club

Kickboxing is a combat sport combinging western boxing with techniques from Asian martial arts. As a result, apart from punching it involves various kicking techniques as well as the use of knee strikes.  Training includes work on technique, physical conditioning, and sparring (optional). We strongly encourage new members to join Kickboxing since we offer training that allows newcomers to gain fighting experience quickly. If you want to try something new, want to get fitter, stronger, faster and more flexible or want to compete, then the Kickboxing Club is where to go.

How many teams do we have?

Kickboxing is an individual sport but members have the opportunity to compete throughout the year in various competitions.

Do I need anything else before I get involved?

The club provides most of the necessary equipment, but members are advised to have their own. The club’s equipment consists of items such as:

    Boxing and Kick-Boxing gloves

    Shin guards

    Kick shields

    Thai pads

    Focus pads

    Skipping ropes

    Free and standing bags

    Timers

Members need to get their own mouthguard and handwraps

To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. All of the different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers.

To access training sessions, you will need to become a full/playing member and purchase a 2018/19 Blades Pass (£20) which will provide you with access to your training sessions. If you already have an Essex Sport Membership (either Bronze, Silver or Gold) you do not need to purchase a Blades Pass. You can purchase your Blades Pass here. If you don’t have a PIN already, click on ‘Forgotten your Pin’ and enter your student e-mail address. Here's a help guide if you need it.

* Please note that your membership information will be used in conjunction with Essex Sport (University), purely for the purpose of providing access to required facilities and data analysis. Your data will not be shared with anyone else or used for marketing purposes.
