Hi everyone!
November has been a busy and exciting month at Southend, and I wanted to share some of the highlights with you all. It’s been great seeing students getting involved, connecting, and making the most of campus life!
💖 Southend Canteen
The canteen officially opened this month and it’s already proving to be really popular with up to 30 meals sold in just two weeks! Our Eat & Meet events were fully booked and provided a relaxed space for students to meet, chat, and enjoy some great food together. It’s fantastic to see students connecting over meals and building community.
💖 Campus Activities

Visited East 15 for a tote-bag making session and donated a basket of feminine products to support students.

Continued collecting feedback for the Health & Social Care (HSC) campaign, helping us understand what students need and how we can make improvements.

Led a campus tour at the university’s request, helping new students get familiar with the campus and feel more at home.
💖 Committees & Leadership

Attended Student Experience Committee and Student Voice Group meetings to make sure Southend students’ voices are heard.

Completed fraud training alongside the Student Leader Team to make sure all our campus activities are safe and accountable.
💖 Societies
Worked on creating and training new societies in Southend, which are now fully up and running! From hobby groups to cultural clubs, these societies are ready for students to join, learn, and meet new people.
💖 What’s Coming Up

3rd December – Eat & Meet: Another chance to meet new people over food in a relaxed and fun environment.

4th December – Society Fair: All the new societies will come together in the SU Lounge, giving you a chance to explore clubs, get involved, and discover something new this term!
It’s been a month full of progress, fun, and connection, and I’m really excited to keep building opportunities and experiences for everyone at Southend. Thank you to everyone who’s been involved so far—it’s your energy and ideas that make our campus community so special!
