Hi all, not masses of updates since the last council a few weeks ago!

I've spent lots of time in/ preparing for awards ceremonies, including presenting at our societies awards and hosting our volunteering awards for council members, students reps and VTeam volunteers. I also visited our Loughton campus to celebrate our student reps at East 15.

I've been working hard behind the scenes on the 'Fix University Funding' campaign, contacting more Students Unions, and having conversations with our trade unions, with UCU Essex signing our open letter to the Secretary of State for Education. We've been creating, filming and editing content for social media and trying to build connections and relationships with other organisations before pushing out the petition.

I have attended Research Committee and Student Experience Committee, the Rules of Assessment Advisory Group, and hosted our regular student leader drop in.

We've continued to discuss the ongoing changes to the University, and how we can make sure students are supported through staff changes and other transitions over the next few months.

It's been a big week for our Pay the Placement campaign, with our pop up launderette on square 3, giving away laundry pods and goodies to healthcare students and encouraging students and staff to sign our petition. We celebrated international nurses day, bringing free tea and coffee to an event for student nurses hosted by their department.

We've also been supporting students through exam and assessment season with our tea trolley, and activities including our miniature farm (full credit to the Education team for organising and arranging everything!)
