Life happens - and if something serious (like illness or personal issues) has stopped you from smashing your assignments, you can submit an Extenuating Circumstances claim via your MyEssex portal.
 

Let us know:
✅ What happened
✅ When it happened
✅ What was affected
 

Things that aren't valid: 

❌ Holidays, oversleeping, timetable mix-ups, too many deadlines, or general money stress won't count (sorry!)

You'll usually need evidence, unless it's a minor illness - then you can self-certify (twice a year, max 5 days).

⏰ Deadlines matter - late claims are rarely accepted.

Once submitted, your case is reviewed. If accepted you might get another reassessment shot (but no mark boosts).
