Who Are We?The Alternative Society is a friendly society for students who love alternative fashion, music, subcultures and more. We love individuality, creativity, and self-expression in all its forms! From Gothic to Punk, from Emo to Metal, from Gyaru to Jirai Kei and anything else out there!
What We Aim To DoWe plan to throw themed socials, collaborations, creative workshops, and launch events designed to be a little bit out there! Whether it’s a fashion social, alt music night, DIY workshops or a collaboration with another society, we aim to create a fun and safe space.
Our MissionWe aim to provide a safe space for students to meet new people who share similar interests, to express themselves freely, and to feel good about who they are!
Who Can JoinFrom full time alternative lifestyle fans to curious students looking to try something new, we’re open to anyone and everyone!
Becoming a member costs just £3.00 for the entire year to access all of our exclusive in-person and online events as well as our chat rooms.

These are your October By-Elections, where members elect the students who will lead and support your society or sports club in both core and non-core committee roles. Any vacant committee position can be filled through this election. Successful candidates will take up their role immediately following the election results, ensuring the committee can continue to operate effectively and provide ongoing support to members.
