WHAT IS POOL?
Pool is a game of both mental and technical dexterity. It has various rule sets, the most popular being World Rules. It involves two colours - red and yellow - all seven of which must be potted before the black ball.
We offer more relaxed sessions for more social players, and serious coaching and competition opportunities for anyone looking to improve their game.
HOW MANY TEAMS DO WE HAVE?
Provisionally we take at least two teams to each event: 9-Ball and 8-Ball National BUCS in Great Yarmouth, South of England Championships in Weston-Super-Mare and the East of England Championships in Cambridge. However, we usually take at least three teams, five players in each team.
GET STARTED
To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. The different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers. By purchasing a membership you are agreeing to the club's code of conduct.
Most serious players have their own cues, however, we have our own stock that you can use during sessions. We can provide you with everything you need.
Please note that your membership information will be used in conjunction with Essex Sport (University of Essex) purely for the purpose of providing access to required facilities and data analysis. Your data will not be shared with anyone else or used for marketing purposes. Memberships are uploaded to the Essex Sport system manually and so it may take up to 5 working days before you are able to book onto your session via the Essex Sport app and attend training sessions.
