But it doesn’t stop there!
You don’t have to meet your best friends in your first two weeks at Essex. Honestly, there’s no deadline for making friends.
We’ve got loads of opportunities to meet new people throughout Term 1 and beyond. Below, we’ve highlighted some key Term 1 events that you can come along to by yourself or with a friend and use as an easy way to meet people.
So if Freshers flies by and you’re thinking, “Hang on… where are all my friends?” — don’t panic. You haven’t missed your chance. You’ve got plenty of time to find your people, and you definitely don’t need to have everything figured out by the end of Freshers.
And if you’re feeling lonely, overwhelmed or unsettled, that’s completely normal too. But if things are starting to feel difficult, you don’t have to wait until you’re really struggling to ask for help. Our friendly Advice Centre team is here whenever you need someone to talk to, some support or simply a bit of guidance about what to do next.
