Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

JETT CLARK

Jett into VP with me

During my four years at this university, I have previously been the social secretary of the lacrosse club and I am currently the vice-captain. This has given me the unique opportunity to witness the shortcomings of the SU on both the social/events and the organisational side. This makes me the perfect candidate for VP student experience.

If I were to be elected, I will look into the improvement of outdoor facilities. Such as, the introduction of 4g pitches that are more weather resistant. This would result in fewer training sessions being cancelled. Having been a part of a less focused on club for four years, I would investigate how the growth of these clubs can be improved, such as increased advertising and better communication between the clubs and the SU.  I also intend to focus on improving he relationship between the SU and societies. I aim to investigate the viability of getting societies a permanent room every week for their socials. I will aspire to put forward a greater variety of events that would be enjoyable and safe.  Another thing I aim to focus on is improving the safety of Sub Zero. For example, I will explore ways to prevent spiking and work on improving the response to any situation that occurs.
