Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

Let's make a change together!

Improving student well-being:

One of the key initiatives that has gained attention this year is the safety night bus project. While we have made progress, it has not reached its final stage yet. I am committed to continuing the work on this project in the upcoming year. The implementation of a safety night bus would significatly improve their safety. I will work closely with the Women Representatives to ensure that the bus becomes available to our community as soon as possible.

Enhancing communication:

Having served as the President of the Women in Law society this year, I have witnessed the challenges faced by society executives when it comes to contacting the SU. To address this issue, I propose optimizing the means of communication between student societies and the SU. By improving the channels of communication, we can provide more efficient service to societies and clubs, minimizing their struggles and ensuring a smoother experience. This will allow societies to focus on their objectives and contribute to the vibrant campus community.

Promoting students' involvement:

I recognize that the SU Council can sometimes seem complex and difficult to understand. It is crucial to bridge this gap and create a sense of transparency and accessibility for all students. I am dedicated to increasing advertising and providing clear explanations about the functioning of the SU Council. By demystifying the council's operations, more students will be motivated to participate, enabling us to amplify their voices and work towards achieving ambitious goals. Together, we can build a stronger and more engaged student body, creating an inclusive and dynamic campus environment.

If elected, I am committed to improving student well-being, enhancing communication channels, and promoting active student involvement. By addressing these important areas, we will create a supportive and empowering environment for all students. , let's work towards a thriving campus community that values the well-being and voice of every student.
