The Fantastic Yoga and Meditation Society's charity of the year, this year, is St John Ambulance.
Throughout this pandemic, St John Ambulance have been working hard, training thousands of volunteers to work at vaccination centres.
The society have chosen to host a "Yoga Marathon" event on St John's Day, 24th June to raise money for this wonderful charity. Please see further details below.

Minimum donation to participate: £5
A yoga marathon is around 2 hours of yoga that involves doing 108 sun salutations and the society will support you at the event to get as close to this target as you can.
As this is a charity fundraiser, a minimum of £5 is required to participate either online or in person.
We encourage you to seek sponsorship for this fundraising event from friends and family and use this to pay for your entry. Any left over money from sponsorship can be donated to St John's Ambulance too.

Volunteering
The Yoga and Meditation Society have been in touch with yoga societies all over the UK who are keen to take part as well, and are looking for more participants, volunteers and benefactors.
How can you help?
Participants - people who would like to take part in the marathon either online through zoom or in person at one of the many locations across the country and raise money through sponsorship.
Volunteers - people who would like to help with the organisation and promotion leading up to the event (especially people who are good at design, marketing, media) and people who would like to help on the day, manning the stall etc. The society are also going to be running a bake sale at the same time so additional money for the cause can be raised that way too. Volunteers can log their hours on Grad Intel.
Benefactors - people who don't fancy doing any yoga but would like to sponsor participants or buy cakes at the bake sale.
A bake sale will take place on the 24th June from 16:00-19:00 in Square 3 with all funds raised going to St John's Ambulance.
