Students have fed back they would like self defence classes, so we have linked up with local boxing gym Dennis & Dyer Boxing Academy to deliver sessions exclusively for Loughton students.
Classes will be on the following dates:
- Friday 19th May, 7-8pm
- Friday 26th May, 7-8pm
- Friday 2nd June, 7-8pm
- Friday 9th June, 7-8pm
Each class will cover the following:
• Footwork (balance and body positioning)
• Stance and guard (protecting yourself and how to limit physical damage)
• Static and on the move shadow boxing
• Pad combination (muscle memory repetition)
• Technical body sparring (if applicable)
• Body conditioning (fitness)
•Self defence scenarios (acting out generic scenarios where self defences may be needed)
FREE for Loughton students as part of your SU membership.
Limited to 10 spaces per session, so book now to ensure you space.
Once spaces are full, a waiting list will be available to sign up to.
Please wear appropriate clothing and trainers and bring water with you.

if you would rather walk with others, we suggest those attending to meet outside the Hatfield building at 6:40pm. It's a 7 minute walk to the venue.
