A Squares Party in the Royal Tradition...
Celebrate Rock's most flamboyant frontman and the release of the biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with the Essex Mercurave!
From 6pm onwards on 22nd October, Square 3 will be blasting out non-stop Queen music in celebration of Freddie Mercury! The whole event benefits the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the charity set up in memory of Mercury which endeavours to finance HIV/AIDS prevention causes worldwide. Collection buckets will be handled by volunteers throughout the event to donate - and in return you can have a cool ribbon-and-moustache pack! We will also have a faux-photo booth with Freddie-themed accessories - and for the bravest of you all out there, a small donation lets you take the stage to unleash your inner Queen and sing karaoke to the whole square!
Queen music is a staple of university life. When Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now or Under Pressure start playing, no-one can resist singing along. This event is the ultimate expression of the unity and joy that Queen music brings - and for a good cause, it would be rude not to!
The event will trail into Milk It that night, who will also be playing a few Queen songs in celebration of the band. So why not come out a couple of hours early and rock out in the most royal way? As the group promised...
