Important information

We're sorry but students who are graduating 2017/ 2018 are unable to apply for this position. The candidate for this role will be required to start immediately. However, will also be required continue work in the next academic year, so this would be unsuitable for anybody completing their studies this year.

The Finance department is one of the most fast paced departments within the Students Union. We're on a mission to go the extra mile for both permanent staff and student staff, from booking you train tickets to ensuring you get paid on time. This is a department that works to strict deadlines and ensures that all information provided into SU accounts is as accurate as possible, assisting Directors and trustees' with decision making.

Our responsibilities vary from book keeping, reconciling and presenting how the SU performs in front of external trustees, sabbaticals, students and staff.

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Cash counting
  • Invoice inputting
  • Filing and archiving
  • Dealing with enquiries as they come in-written and verbal
  • Assisting with IT programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Exchequer Enterprise Accounts software
  • Assisting with internal audit tasks
  • Working on individual projects as directed
  • Other ad hoc finance duties
