WHAT YOU'LL DO. 
THE DAY TO DAY.

Working as part of a team in one of our Catering outlets, you will be preparing, cooking and presenting high quality meals. The post holder will be trained to be multi-skilled in all general areas of catering operations to ensure that all key targets and sevice quality standards set are implemented in order to develop trade levels to maximum potential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking food.
  • Carrying out general cleaning duties and maintaining hygiene standards in line with Health & Safety legislation.
  • On occasions you may be required to close the Kitchen after service.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in your area and find ways of having fun in the workplace.
  • Work with all team members to ensure that agreed standards, procedures and targets are met, monitored and in accordance with the Vision & Values of the Union and the area you work in.
  • Contribute as a team member to ideas in relation to operational efficiency and service standards and make recommendations when appropriate.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain the Level 2 Foof hygiene certificate on joining (provided by the Students' Union).
  • Ensure that procedures are followed and make recommendations for change, when appropriate.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is of the highest standard and in line with Health & Safety standards and legislation.

Ability to complete essential training in relation to the position

ROLE SPEC    
Hold a Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene - or ability to successfully obtain on joining  
Ability to work in a democratic structure with elected officers  
Maintain excellent standards in all areas of kitchen work  
Ability to operate appropriate catering equipment safely  
Attention to detail  
Experience of working in a kitchen environment
