Football (or soccer) is a team sport played between 2 teams of 11 players and is one of the world's most popular sports. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal, and the team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins.

Football boots and shinpads are required at all training sessions and matches. Metal studs can only be worn on the grass pitches.
To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. All of the different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers.
To access training sessions, you will need to become a full/playing member and purchase a 2018/19 Blades Pass (£20) which will provide you with access to your training sessions. If you already have an Essex Sport Membership (either Bronze, Silver or Gold) you do not need to purchase a Blades Pass. You can purchase your Blades Pass here. If you don’t have a PIN already, click on ‘Forgotten your Pin’ and enter your student e-mail address. Here's a help guide if you need it.

Allows you to attend Come & Try sessions and Trials (and provides insurance cover at these sessions), vote in club elections, added to the club mailing list and receive a discount on Sports Fed tickets.
Includes all benefits of Basic Membership, but also allows the member to attend all club training sessions, play in BUCS matches and means they are insured against injury whilst at training and matches for the Men's Football Club. Please note this membership does not include your Blades Pass.

Teams play in a league format progressing to a knock-out competition. Games are 15-20 minutes long, with maximum squads of 10.
Games are 50 minutes along, squads can have up to 20 players, with unlimited subs and a few slight adaptations. All games will have qualified referees with games played to FA Rules.
