netball

hello, we are the essex blades netball club

Netball is a non-contact ball sport played by two different teams of seven players. The aim of the game is to score as many goals as possible. Goals are scored by throwing the ball into the ring at each end of the court. All players have specific positions; Goal Keeper, Goal Defence, Wing Defence, Centre, Wing Attack, Goal Attack and Goal Shooter which restricts their movement on the court. You are not allowed to run with the ball, hold the ball for more than three seconds or contact any other player.

Do I need anything else before I get involved?

All you need to play Netball at Essex is some appropriate sport trainers and an awesome attitude to get involved and give it a go; no matter whether you've played before or it's your first time.

Join us*

To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. All of the different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers.

To access training sessions, you will need to become a full/playing member and purchase a 2018/19 Blades Pass (£20) which will provide you with access to your training sessions. If you already have an Essex Sport Membership (either Bronze, Silver or Gold) you do not need to purchase a Blades Pass. You can purchase your Blades Pass here. If you don’t have a PIN already, click on ‘Forgotten your Pin’ and enter your student e-mail address. Here's a help guide if you need it.

* Please note that your membership information will be used in conjunction with Essex Sport (University), purely for the purpose of providing access to required facilities and data analysis. Your data will not be shared with anyone else or used for marketing purposes.
