Apologies for the late blog but here it is.

campus cat day

Last week we held the first ever campus cat day to celebrate pebbles and it truly was an amazing event. In the weeks leading up I worked hard with multiple teams to ensure everyone was ready to make the day a success.

elections

In the lead up to the elections I have met with numerous candidates to talk through the important issues facing students and ensuring that candidates understood the roles they were running for and were ready to spread their message with students. I now am visiting candidates on the squares on a regular basis to check everyone is enjoying it and feeling ok.

one world essex

Last week I helped adrian to deliver one world essex, a celebration of the multiculturalism of our university and took part in multiple events including the flag parade which is always a highlight of the academic year.

Democracy in action

I have met with the majority of the democracy in action groups in the last few weeks to assist them in delivering on their projects. Many of these align with our big plan so it has been nice to have additional hands to help deliver the plan.

VC and DVC recruitment

I have continued to help with the VC recruitment and we hope to make an announcement on a new VC soon. Unfortunately the DVC has stepped down so i will also be involved in helping to recruit this role once the new VC is appointed.

Plant based campus.

I have met with the students behind the plant based campus campaign and helped them to start a petition looking to call a referendum on the matter. Please feel free to reach out if you would like more information.
