On Tuesday, we held a Recognition Evening to celebrate the work that our student representatives do. Find out who won our awards for their valued voluntary work.
On Tuesday night we held and event in The Atrium to recognise the work that our student representatives do - we appreciate them so much!!
We have a wide range of students filling representational roles throughout the SU. The Education team have over 400 students reps whose role is to listen to students about their course and feed that into the Education team and back to the university via various committees.
There are also Parliament reps – these students are elected into position to represent specific communities and ensure that they have a voice on what was Student Parliament but has recently been renamed Student Council, it is the main decision making organisation for the SU.
And finally we have the Student Community Officers. These students try to ensure that communities that are usually in the minority and often forgotten about, or don’t have
the same opportunities as others, have a voice, run events to support them and highlight issues on a local and national level. All these reps work tirelessly to improve the lives and experiences of their fellow students and they do it for free.
On Tuesday we gave awards to acknowledge those who had gone above and beyond in these roles.
