Have the strikes affected you?

Let us know and we can help

The UCU Pension Strike is entering its third week. This week staff will be on strike from Monday - Thursday. Essex SU is committed to support the strikes because we think that cuts to pensions threaten education for all of us. Thank you to everyone who fed back how their modules were being affected last week. We raised all of the issues in a meeting with senior University management, and they published a response to the most common concerns.

We're arranging meetings with all heads of department this week to make sure that they email students to let them know what's happening with assessments for each module (e.g. will topics be taken off, will the marking scheme be changed).

To make sure we're continuing to represent your academic interests in this strike the SU are offering guidance on specific situations. If you're worried that you haven't been told what'll be on your exam, or that your coursework hasn't been marked yet we can help you get answers and complete extenuating circumstances forms.

Tell us about your situation here, and we'll do everything we can to help.
