Hey there, postgraduate students! What are you doing this summer?
Well, the summer does not have to be long and boring trying to write up dissertations or essays. You can definitely do something fun. As the Essex SU, we have great activities lined up for you over the next couple of months and it is giving PG SUMMER!
We start by cooling off with the PG SUMMER - POWER UP STATION. With the temperatures in full blast this summer, you can enjoy the AC from the 6th of July - 28th September, every Tuesday and Thursday from 11am to 4pm in the Atrium. Free hot/cold drinks will be available for you.
We continue by getting our adrenaline pumping with the PG SUMMER – BADMINTON on the 13th of July in the Sports Hall. All skill levels are welcome to join. Let’s put some bad-mint-on this summer!
On the 14th of July at the North Tower Taxi Rank we planned the PG SUMMER – BOWLING. Join us for a PG Bowling trip and get a chance to have fun and be competitive with your friends. Come knock some pins down!
You may not be one who likes breaking a sweat, so we planned some calm, relaxing sessions where you can customize your own journal. We call it the PG SUMMER – JOURNALS which will happen every month this summer. Starting with the 26th of July, then 29th August and finally 27th September. Remember what you write in the journal, stays in the journal!
What sound does a hot pan make when you put it inside cool water? SZZZZ! That’s the feeling you will get when you come along for the PG SUMMER - LIDO TRIP on the 28th of July in Brightlingsea. Enjoy a day splashing and paddling in chilled water.
We have some ‘create beside nature’ related activities. First the PG SUMMER – NATURE WALK AND CLAY CREATIONS on the 9th of August by the lakes. You come and be creative while enjoying the scenery of the lake. A duck might be your muse!
On the 16th of August by the lakes is the PG SUMMER – COLLECT & PAINT CLAY CREATION, where you can come pick up your artistic clay pieces and take them home.
There also is the PG SUMMER – WALK & GATHER FLOWERS on the 16th of August by the lakes. Join us for a nature walk to collect flowers to create pressed flower keyrings. It will be fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and make your own souvenir.
Finally, the PG SUMMER – PICNIC on the 23rd of August by the lakes! A chance to connect, eat and drink beneath the blue sky. This will be accompanied by the PG SUMMER – PRESSED FLOWER KEYRINGS on the 23rd of August by the Lakes. It will be a fantastic day to seal in the summer with pressed flower keyrings.
