Despite new members of the committee only just having been elected, the society organised stands in the HHS building and public areas of the University. Lured by cake, volunteers handed out leaflets to the public & HHS staff promoting what OTs do, and offered fun activities with elements of added difficulty.

These  illustrated how you need to adapt the ways in which you carry out tasks when you lose movement in a limb, or one of your senses becomes compromised.

All the members of the public who got involved really enjoyed taking part and we were able to tell them what occupational therapy was, as many of them had never heard of it or were unclear as to what it was, and how occupational therapy can be beneficial to a wide variety of people throughout their life.
