We care about the environment, and we are taking steps to try and reduce the carbon footprint of the university. But we are also trying to reduce our own carbon footprints too.

Want to know what your carbon footprint is before you start? You can take the test here.

Here are some tips on how you can reduce your own carbon footprint when it comes to travelling.

  • If you are able, travelling to and from the university on your bike is a great way to cut down your carbon footprint. The university has a lot of services in place for cyclists; you can read all about them here.
  • If you can’t travel by bike, or the weather is a little rough, consider travelling using public transport or carpooling to reduce your carbon emissions.
  • Consider visiting somewhere in the UK instead, there are a lot of nice places to visit and lots of things to do.
  • Why not have a staycation!? Turn off all your electrical devices, pretend you’ve gone away somewhere exotic, but really you’re just at home, staying in a duvet all day watching movies. Don’t bother with chores like you would if you were away, and maybe treat yourself and eat-in at a local restaurant.
