We are sorry to announce that due to COVID-19 there will be no SubZero events for the rest of the academic year. With this in mind we are offering partial refunds to students who hold Black Cards, Event Only passes and Term 2 passes. The amount being refunded to individual holders is as below.

These figures have been worked out by removing the costs associated with Fresher’s, which is £95 and then splitting the remaining  amount into the three terms. We will refund you the term you have missed, these figures also reflect the fact that term 3 is the shortest term in the academic year.

In the case of a term 2 only pass you will be refunded 10% of your original purchase amount.

As we are sure you are aware the University of Essex Student’s Union is a charitable organisation and we are currently trying to help and support as many students as possible through this difficult time. Without revenue streams this is a difficult task but one we are prepared to undertake, with this in mind we ask if you are able to support us by not claiming a refund that would be greatly appreciated.

The deadline to claim refunds is the 22nd May  2020 at 5pm and we expect all refunds to be processed within 21 days after this date. This is due to us and others running on fewer team members due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we apologise in advance if this causes inconvenience.

International bank accounts

Due to processing fees there will be a £12.50 for transfers to international accounts, so please use a UK account wherever possible. if you are an international student who is returning next year we are able to to hold on to your refund and process this in person at the beginning of the next academic year.
