The African and Caribbean Society exists to represent and establish diversity within the University of Essex. To share and celebrate the warm and vibrant culture. The aims of the society are; 

  • To extend the diversity of the society by openly welcoming those of different backgrounds, cultures and origins. 
  • To successfully celebrate the African and Caribbean culture through music, sports,food, drama,fashion,art,comedy,seminars and fairs.
  • Collaborate with other societies to ensure they may also benefit in gaining other experiences.
  • Work closely with the community in Essex.
  • To increase the size of events by joining with neighbouring societies.
