Here at Sri Lankan Society we hope to bring everyone a great experience of Sri Lankan culture ... Whether it's a spicy rice and curry, Sri Lankan style partying to traditional 'baila' music or a good old game of cricket, Sri Lanka has got it all!
For those of you who have been fortunate enough to experience Sri Lankan culture, I think we can all agree that it's definitely one of a kind.
We can make Sri Lankan food together in our socials and even have famous 'hopper' or ‘kothu’ nights. We can organize maybe a baila dance competition which could raise funds which can later be donated to charitable organisations or even used to help fellow Sri Lankan's back home. We can organize a cricket tournament whilst listening to our iconic 'papara' band.
And of course, this society is opened to everyone! Whether you're a Sri Lankan looking to meet others like yourself or someone just interested in knowing our culture and meeting new people, we hope to make this a friendly and exciting society to be a part of!
Our goal is to bring the vibrancy, diversity & warmth of Sri Lankan culture to Essex, and to the UK.
