Welcome to the University of Essex LGBT+ Society, Southend! We exist solely to represent UoE students who identify as LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and any other thereof!).

We aim to:

* Give new and returning LGBT+ students an open and friendly place to meet fellow students and make friends.

* Give students an opportunity to be active in LGBT+ events and campaigns.

* Provide LGBT+ students with information and support with academic and personal pressures. 

* Ensure the interests of LGBT+ students are protected and are represented in every aspect of University life.   

We know it can be intimidating getting involved in a new society at university, for the first time, especially an LGBT+ Society, so we operate a very strict "no outing" policy meaning we will never disclose your sexuality or gender identity to anyone :)

If you are nervous or unsure about attending a society meeting or event, give us a message through our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages and a member of the Society Committee will be happy to discuss any concerns you have!

When you successfully pay for membership, you will be able to see what events we have planned for the year under the "What's On?" tab on our page.
