OFFICIAL PSYCHOLOGY SOCIETY  2023-2024

WHO ARE WE

Hi there! If you are on this page, it must mean you are passionate about psychology… we are too! Our society was made to explore exciting areas of psychology and to inspire more people to get into psychology as a career. The psychology society has been re-branded in the last three years, and with this re-branding, a new enthusiasm for psychology followed. Our society focuses on reaching psychology students but also those who have an interest in the subject.

OUR ETHOS

The Psychology society is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Members do not by any means need to be students in the Psychology department and do not need to have any prior knowledge of the subject; if your curiosity is there, then this society is perfect for you!

We want to emphasise that the Psychology society is a community that respects all identities and social groups, so all views and opinions must be respected and welcomed with an open mind.

WHAT WILL YOUR MEMBERSHIP GET YOU?

A supportive and welcoming group of like-minded individuals!

As well as career and study events, we hold a lot of well-being and social events. The psychology society was created with the intention of having a safe space where individuals can have their voices heard and meet/ socialise with others – our messages are always open. We have WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, all of which are active throughout the year.

Make a difference in the community!

We are aiming to host even more volunteering and fundraising events for meaningful charities that aim to support underrepresented individuals and groups in our community. If you have any charities in mind that you are passionate about, please let us know.

We host lots of socials, quizzes, movie nights, games nights and even study sessions throughout the year. Look out for our social events on our social media and the Essex SU What’s On page.
