Thinking of studying abroad, incoming exchange student or a returning student? Why not join the study abroad society? We host weekly socials, arrange trips around the UK and work alongside the Essex Abroad office. As a society we believe that social interaction and cultural awareness are key to enjoying your time here at Essex. For new and current students of Essex intending on doing a year or semester abroad, we provide guidance and advice to ensure the application process can be as simple as possible. Perhaps there is a prospective university that you wish to attend and would really benefit from speaking with someone who has attended or is currently attending – we can help you with that! Both incoming exchange students and returning Essex students will find sanctuary in this multicultural society ran by four returning study abroad students! On the 27th of October 2018 the Study Abroad Society will host its’ annual trip to London. Fancy taking a river cruise down the river Thames? Want to see where the Queen has her afternoon tea? Ever wanted to enjoy traditional fish and chips while having a pint? These are just a few of the many stops we will be making. Throughout the year we will be visiting Cambridge, playing a round of pub golf, enjoying afternoon tea at a local tea shop, trying traditional British dishes like a Sunday Roast and Chicken Tikka Masala! We aim to provide a welcoming environment to truly embrace what British culture is about.
