pole dance

hello! we are the essex blades pole dance club <3

At the University of Essex Pole Dancing Club, we aim to provide a great environment for our members to have fun whilst learning the art of Pole Dancing! Our classes are suitable for all abilities, from those who have never touched a pole before, to those who are more experienced. Although we are aware of the stigma that Pole Dancing can hold, we are always looking for ways to change this and are consistantly spreading the word that Pole Dancing is a fun, rewarding sport that deserves to be recognised.

As a member of our club, you will have a weekly pole lesson run by our amazing coaches, as well as the option to partake in our optional Strength and Flexibility + Dance Classes which will help you master those pole moves faster and improve your flow! Both these classes are taught with all levels of ability in mind so please don't be scared to come along!

How many teams do we have?

Although our club is based on class sign up rather than teams, we do have an ever-changing competition squad that we hold auditions for if you wish to compete for us! Our squads compete in the categories of Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Group Performance at various competitions throughout the year.

Skin contact is needed for Pole Dancing, so shorts are needed. Please do not wear rings, moisturiser or fake tan to the pole class as all of these can damage the poles.
