hello, we are the essex blades sub aqua club

We are a SCUBA diving club based at the University of Essex, providing great opportunities for experienced and novices alike. If you've never dived before, why not come along to a Try Dive session to give SCUBA a go. Those who already hold a certification can fun dive with us or enrol on any courses to gain additional experience. We are PADI affiliated, but welcome any other certifications.

DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE BEFORE I GET INVOLVED?

If you've never dived before, all you need is a swimsuit and t-shirt. If you're already qualified/fun-diving, you'll need a mask and snorkel. All other gear will be provided if you're on a course or can be rented from the club if you're fun-diving. If you have your own gear, you can use it as long as it's in service.
Let us know what courses you're interested in and if you want to fun-dive by filling out our new member form (and then dropping us a line to let us know you've done it). Fun-diver or  dive student - EVERYONE needs to fill out a medical form before getting in the water - if you haven't got an in-date medical just ask us for the form!

To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. All of the different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers.

* Please note that your membership information will be used in conjunction with Essex Sport (University), purely for the purpose of providing access to required facilities and data analysis. Your data will not be shared with anyone else or used for marketing purposes.

* Please note that due to COVID-19 we are identifying what activities are able to be played in line with UK Government and National Governing Bodies for sport guidelines.  Due to this, we have suspended playing memberships until we have a clearer picture of training and competition opportunities for 2020/21.
