cine10 rewards

By becoming a Cine10 Rewards member, you agree to receive updates and announcements via your registered email relating to Cine10 and upcoming screenings. If you don't want to continue receiving these emails you can unsubscribe at any time using the link found at the bottom of the email.

Cine10 Rewards members are entitled to buy 1 'Rewards Member' ticket per screening, this includes 1 portion of popcorn which can be collected at the screening. This offer cannot be transferred or substituted.

EVENTS AND TICKETS

We know it's super boring, but it's kind of important you read this stuff before you buy your ticket, we can't always offer refunds.

These terms and conditions override all other advertised information.

Management and security reserve the right to refuse admission for unsociable behaviour and/or if a customer is judged to be too intoxicated or refuses to be searched. Management reserve the right to refuse entry to the venue for any reason. Management reserve the right to move events to different campus venues. Students are responsible for the actions of their guests and if their guests contravene Union venue policies students will face an equal or greater punishment depending on the situation. Free Drinks or shots will only be served to customers who aren’t intoxicated, any customers who we think are intoxicated won’t be served (see our Licensing policy).

Rights over admission reserved.

If you receive a Venue Ban you won't be entitled to a refund on your event ticket.

Filming

So we can show everyone how great our events are, we might be filming when you visit. By buying a ticket or attending a free event you give permission to be filmed, and for the footage to be used like this.
 
To make sure everyone is as safe as they can be at events, members of staff wear body cameras. This footage might be used by the Students’ Union for disciplinary investigations. By buying a ticket to any Students’ Union event you give permission to be filmed, and for the footage to be used like this.

PhOTOGRAPHY 

So that you never forget any of the amazing things you've attended, we'll usually be taking photos at every event. By buying a ticket or attending a free event you give permission to be photographed and for us to use these photos for marketing and promotional purposes, including posting them on our website and social media channels. If there is a photo of you that you wish to be removed, please send a link of the photo to sumarketing@essex.ac.uk and this will be resolved for you. 

Advance tickets

Advanced tickets aren't available after 10:30pm the day of the event. After this you'll need to purchase your ticket from The Hub at the door price.

Last Entry Times:

Essex University Students' Union venues operate a Last Entry time for each event. Unfortunately, we can't offer refunds to customers who turn up after the last entry time. Freshers has its own Last Entry time due wristbands and timings of DJs and Acts.

Freshers:

Last Entry time for Freshers Pass Holders is 12am. Pass holders must be in the Pass venue by 12am to gain entry. Standard ticket holders must be in the venue by 12:30am or they will not be allowed entry.

Standard Term Time Events:

Sunday -Thursday: You need to be in the queue for the event by 12:30am or you won't be allowed entry to the event.

Friday - Saturday: You need to be in the queue for the event by 1:00am or you won't be allowed entry to the event.

The venue operates a no re-admission policy. If you leave the venue for any reason you will not be allowed to re enter the premises unless you purchase an additional ticket.

Tickets are not transferable.

Student tickets

Photo ID in the form of a VALID reg card will be required on the door. We have an electronic ticketing system (no paper tickets). To gain entry to an event you must bring your student registration card as proof of ID, if you purchase a student ticket and have no student ID you will be refused entry. Tickets are non transferable and you must be over 18 to attend events.

Guest tickets

Photographic ID in the form of Passport OR UK Driving license will be required on the door. We have an electronic ticketing system (no paper tickets). To gain entry to an event you must bring the credit/debit card you paid with online and photographic ID. If your guest ticket has been bought through a student account you must be with that student in order to gain entry (they will need their student reg card). Tickets are non-transferable. You must be over 18 to attend events.

Refunds

We are unable to offer refunds, please make sure you are able to attend an event when you purchase your tickets. If you have been banned from the premises for any reason and have purchased a ticket you will not be given a refund

BANS

Please note that if you break the venue policies or the law's relating to licensing you may be banned from the venue. You can find out more information about bans here

PRizes/giveaways

Please be aware for all our giveaway nights one prize ticket is allocated per person, this is at the discretion of management. Decisions of management are also final.

Colchester Institute Students:

Colchester Institute students may attend events upon presentation of a valid Student card and Photo ID, they may purchase guest tickets for all events EXCEPT Flirt!.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR NON-STUDENTS:

All events are student only unless advertised as open to the general public. Bounce is a student only event. Any tickets purchased for Student only events must have a valid University of Essex Registration card presented to gain entry. Tickets will not be refunded in cases where a member of the public purchases a ticket for a student only event.

 

Valid ID for Events:

You must present Valid Photo ID to gain entry to an event.

We only accept valid University of Essex Student Registration cards, valid photo passports, or a valid driving licence. No other forms of ID are accepted. If you are unable to provide Valid Photo ID you will not gain admission to the event and refunds will not be given if a ticket has been purchased.

We'd love to be able to tell you about upcoming events and things we think will interest you, so occasionally we may send you emails to the email address you used to buy your ticket. Don't worry though, we won't spam you and we'll definitely never share your details with anyone else. If for whatever reason you decide you don't want to hear from us anymore, you can always unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of the email.

Term and Freshers Pass Terms and Conditions

TERM PASS

  • All Term Pass purchasers who purchase a Term Pass between 18/8/17 and 6/9/17 will have their name entered into a Prize draw to win a Laptop. The Winner will be contacted by email by 15th October. The Winner will have 5 days from the sending of the email to collect the laptop. If they fail to collect in this period a new name will be drawn, who will have 5 days to collect. Names will continue to be drawn until the prize is collected in the allocated time frame. ID will need to be presented when collected.
  • During Freshers Fortnight all Pass holders need to be in the venue by 00:00. After this time, we might re-allocate your ticket for sale. If you turn up late you will not be able to get in using your Wristband or Pass. We set the capacity of the venue depending on how many Pass holders are using their passes on any given night. After Freshers Fortnight Term Pass holders must enter by the advertised Last Entry Time for each individual event.
  • Please note we cannot guarantee entry to the XXX-Rated Hypnostism show due to the limited number of seats available.
  • Over 18s only. Valid ID (Passport or Driving Licence) will need to be presented with a Wristband or Term Pass card. Entry during Freshers Fortnight will be with a Wristband.
  • Wristbands must be worn. If the wristband if damaged or lost it will be become invalid. No refund will be given in this situation. 
  • If you violate Venue policies and receive a Venues Ban you will not be entitled to a refund and will be refused entry to the Venue until your ban expires.
  • Wristbands and Term Passes remain the property of The Students Union at all times and they retain the right to remove wristbands if venue policies are breached or the wristbands are misused. When the period of events that are covered by the wristband or term pass expire the wristband will transfer fully to the purchaser.
  • Free Drinks or shots will only be served to customers who aren’t intoxicated. Any customers who we believe are intoxicated won’t be served (see our Licensing policy). This is fully at the discretion of staff.
  • Exclusive Pass Holder Daily Drinks Deals during Freshers: These will be in Base Bar and Club and the SU Bar and will be advertised daily in that venue. You must show your wristband before ordering.
  • Whilst we try our best to make sure all acts appear, if any fail to appear because of unforeseen circumstances, we can't give refunds or partial refunds.
  • Top Bar Discounts and Savings: please show your Student Registration card and Term Pass Discount Card before you order to claim this discount.
  • Opportunities to ‘BRING 2 FRIENDS IN FOR FREE' to selected advertised events throughout Term 1. (Guests must be Students). These events will be advertised in advance. Guests must enter with the Term Pass Holder. Management reserve the right to refuse entry. Guests must show their Student Registration cards. If Guests have purchased tickets beforehand they are not entitled to a refund.
  • To claim 10% discounts at the advertised outlets please show your Student Registration card and Term Pass Discount Card
  • Pay just £2 for a Bomb all term in the SU Bar; please show your Student Registration card and Term Pass Discount Card before you order to claim this discount.
  • Free Safety Bus travel is only available if there is an available space on the Safety Bus. Pass holders can’t jump the queue and must wait for an available space.
  • £5 of Free Bombs: Term pass holders will be given a voucher for a Free Bomb on Fri 14th Oct and Sat 21st Oct before 12:30am. These will only be given to customers who aren’t intoxicated. Any customers who we believe are intoxicated won’t be served (see our Licensing policy).
  • Free Entry to the Ultimate Quiz during Fresher’s Fortnight in the SU Bar and your chance to win £200; please show your Student Registration card and Term Pass Discount Card before you order to claim this discount.
  • Free refillable drink during fresher’s fortnight with any Wrap ordered in Frangos; please show your Student Registration card and Term Pass Discount Card before you order to claim this discount.
  • Whilst every effort has been made to ensure these offers are accurate we accept no responsibility for any mistakes made.
  • We reserve the right to alter prices after printing
  • No refunds will be given in the event that customers are mischarged when failing to show their wristband or discount cards for discounts.
  • We reserve the right to change or withdraw any of these offers at any point without notice.
  • No replacements will be given if Wristbands, Term Passes or Discount cards are misplaced, lost or damaged.
  • No refunds will be offered on Wristbands if students do not take up their place at University of Essex or purchase a pass for Colchester but are based at the Southend or Loughton Campuses.
  • Summer Ball entry is not included in pass, tickets for the Summer Ball have to be purchased separately

IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT BASE CLUB REACHES ITS CAPACITY ON ANY EVENT THEN PASS HOLDERS WILL HAVE TO ATTEND AN EVENT IN SUB ZERO OR VICE VERSA. MANAGEMENT RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DIRECT PASS HOLDERS TO A SUITABLE EVENT TO ENSURE VENUES COMPLY WITH CAPACITY LIMITS. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF THIS SITUATION ARISES. UNIVERSITY OF ESSEX SU WILL ENDEVOUR TO ENSURE ALL CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPY AND ABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT OF THEIR CHOICE.

Summer Ball Priority Competition

  1. The promoter is: The University of Essex Students’ Union whose registered office is at Wivenhoe Park, Colchester, CO4 3SQ
  2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of The University of Essex Students’ Union and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  3. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  4. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via Facebook.
  5. Closing date for entry will be 05/04/17 at 18:00. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  6. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  7. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
  8. Just buy your Summer Ball Priority ticket before 6pm on the 05/04/17, and you’ll be automatically entered into the draw.
  9. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  10. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  11. The prize is as follows: 1 x £50 ASOS voucher, 1x bottle of champagne on the evening of the Ball, £50 vouchers to spend at the Ball, 1x free professional photo in the photo booth at the Ball.
  12. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  13. Winners will be chosen at random by software, from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents.
  14. The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
