SU Driver Registration

How can I become an SU Registered Driver?

This course can take a few weeks to complete, leave enough time before you need to drive. Timings will vary over the weeks depending on availability.

So you want to be a driver? Lets get started.

  • We have a trained MiDAS instructor who takes the course and assesses any potential new drivers.
  • We want everyone to drive in a safe and economic way. This course will provide you with advanced driving tips for a Minibus & MPV.

Our step-by-step guide

Start by filling out our online Driver Registration Form (DRF)

If you’re a Non-Standard Driver (You’ll be told this in your online application) you’ll also need to fill out our ‘Non-Standard Driver Form’ and return this to the SU Reception.

Once you’ve received the all clear from us, you’ll be enrolled on a Moodle course. This explains the all the information needed to pass the theory test and drive our vehicles.

At the end of this you’ll need to complete a short multiple choice test, you need 80% to pass, no pressure.

Once you pass the course you’ll be able to book unto one of our Summary sessions to recap and go over some of the finer points.

It’s time to take the test! Book your Assessed Drive for Minibuses or Observed Drive for MPVs, through the link on Moodle. This can take up to 2 hours so don’t make other plans!

Well done, you’re now ready to go! You’ll get a MiDAS certificate as well that lasts for the next 4 years.

Remember to book your vehicle well in advance if possible and complete all safety checks on the day. Happy driving!

If you don’t pass, don’t worry! You can re-take your test next year and try again.
