Hey,

With the new term commencing, I am looking to put on Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance week at the beginning of March. This will include stalls from different relevant charities, making students more aware of the options regarding sexual health check-ups, and advertising that the SU gives away free condoms to our members (and there is no shame in picking some up from the SU Reception or SU Advice!).

The end of SHAG week will include a special event that will be put on to raise funds for the Period Pride campaign launched by Dig Deep. This event will also be celebrating International Women’s Day. More details of this will follow, and I encourage all students to take part and donate as much as they feel comfortable. This will also be open to staff, in order to involve our whole community in something bigger.

The aim of the week is to bring more awareness to healthy sex, how to have conversations which may be uncomfortable, and how to safely navigate university life while also having fun!
