I am so excited since this is my first ever blog for this academic year and it’s almost the start of the term! ( I don’t get nervous but I’m starting to get a bit shaky). In these blogs, I will give you little insights about my role such as what work I am currently working on or important events that is happening soon.If you have any questions and love to get involved in the upcoming events, feel free to email me and the other sabbatical officers!   

This is the third month of my role now and it’s been a really intense, informative and exciting time for me and the other sabbatical officers as we have attended a lot of trainings such as Anti-Semitism, Health and safety, Finance, GDPR, Public speaking…….. and of course the Big plan meetings. ( The blogs will be more interesting once all the trainings are over and when the term starts. Source: trust me bro)  

During the training period, we have also delivered two presentation of this year Big plan to the senior staff from both Colchester and Southend campuses, with the goal of identifying how and where the university staffs can assist and collaborate with us to deliver a better experience for all students and it is going well! I have also been planning events for the fresher weeks such as  

• The International Mixer which will be held in the Hexagon building on 5^th October at 7-9pm. ( For more information stay tune with the SU and ISA Instagram page!)  

• Also, the ISA team (International Students’ Association) is currently recruiting the ISA chair for this academic year from 29^th September to 5^th September! (Link to apply is on the Essexsu Instagram bio!).
