Why should I join SXDANCE?
Make sure you join SXDance on campus in 2016/2017!
We are one of the largest and most successful clubs the university of Essex has to offer.
We compete in all kinds of competitions and hold our huge annual show, where all members can participate.
Dancing with SXDance offers the ability to dance styles from Latin to Street or Ballet.
In addition you will be given the opportunity to attend workshops given by professional dancers!
SXDance is a welcoming, all-age family of dancers for both those who have danced before and those with no experience! We look forward to seeing you at freshers fair, look out for us dancing in the squares!
Dance is also a great way to make new friends and keep fit! You can commit as much as you want, attending every class or come along in your spare time just for fun!
SXD is a friendly sports club that welcomes anyone whether you are an experienced dancer or a complete beginner.
Joining SXD will give you the opportunity to try out loads of different styles, compete regularly around the country, take part in many show cases throughout the year and also participate in the amazing annual show in Lakeside Theatre!! ... As well as being able to attend workshops given by professional dancers!!
It is also a great way to make new friends and keep fit!

WEDNESDAY (Studio 2)
2 – 3pm --> Fitness and Stretch
3 – 4pm --> Jazz
4 – 5pm --> Tap
5 – 6pm --> Contemporary
FRIDAY (Studio 1)
5 - 6pm --> Latin
6 - 7pm --> Ballet
7 - 8pm --> Street
Club aims
SXDance aims to accommodate all dancers, ranging from complete beginners to advanced individuals. We aim to create a fun and friendly atmosphere, making classes very enjoyable. We work very hard as a whole team for competitions and shows to ensure the best performances are given and get very involved with events both on campus and around the country. We provide weekly social events both on campus and in town which enable our members to make great friends and feel part of a very welcoming group.
Club objectives
Our objectives for the year are to maintain our high level of achievement at competitions around the country and host our very popular annual show once again. We hope to achieve a high level of fundraising for Charity through various fundraising activities throughout the year. Above all, if you would love the opportunity to dance, choreograph, meet new people and have loads of fun, then SXDance is for you!

GET INVOLVED IN SOCIALS...
Fundraisers --> cake sales in the squares to dance-athons which are always great fun!!
Nights Out/'Socials' --> pubbing, clubbing or chilling is a great way of getting to know everyone & making friends!!
